In this abstract the artist, who is Puerto Rican, honors, the Jibaro of her homeland with this abstract using colors as bright as the pride she has for her culture and its people.
Julie Crisan was born in Puerto Rico, grew up in New York, lived in Georgia, USA for 20+ years before moving to Portugal in 2021. As an intuitive artist, she nurtures her soul by allowing herself the creative freedom to create art without limits to style, color or subject matter. She especially enjoys painting abstracts and folk art using different material and styles. Stress played a role in Julie Crisan's discovery of her artistic talents. She used her daughter's art supplies to paint, recalling that when she painted one previous time with her it was relaxing and a distraction.
