Julie Crisan paints from a place of emotion. This painting was created on a day when artist was feeling Melancholy. However, after finishing this piece, she could not come up with a name for it and did not want to name it Abstract #X, so she ran a promotion and one of her followers named it. It was interesting to see how a few mentioned Melancholy...coincidence, she thinks not.
Julie Crisan was born in Puerto Rico, grew up in New York, lived in Georgia, USA for 20+ years before moving to Portugal in 2021. As an intuitive artist, she nurtures her soul by allowing herself the creative freedom to create art without limits to style, color or subject matter. She especially enjoys painting abstracts and folk art using different material and styles. Stress played a role in Julie Crisan's discovery of her artistic talents. She used her daughter's art supplies to paint, recalling that when she painted one previous time with her it was relaxing and a distraction.
