This piece is one of a series of praying women of different ethnicities, color and culture. The artist was inspired to create this series as a result of the most recent craziness that we have experienced in our world. She believes that only prayer can heal us and our world. She hopes it serves as a reminder to pray.
Julie Crisan was born in Puerto Rico, grew up in New York, lived in Georgia, USA for 20+ years before moving to Portugal in 2021. As an intuitive artist, she nurtures her soul by allowing herself the creative freedom to create art without limits to style, color or subject matter. She especially enjoys painting abstracts and folk art using different material and styles. Stress played a role in Julie Crisan's discovery of her artistic talents. She used her daughter's art supplies to paint, recalling that when she painted one previous time with her it was relaxing and a distraction.
